Buying
Tips for buying at auction
  1. Learn how the auction process works. It is essential that you understand how the auction process works BEFORE you make a bid.
  2. Do your research. Research the property you intend to bid on as fully as possible. Consider viewing the property if possible, study the legal pack, and think about having a solicitor read it and advise on your behalf.
  3. Set yourself a budget for what you are willing to pay for the property and try to stick to it.
  4. Ensure your finances are ready.  It is not uncommon for buyers to realise they cannot fulfil their financial commitments when winning a property at auction. Ensure you have 100% of the finance available before the end of an auction cycle.
  5. Experience an auction in advance. If possible try to watch a property auction by logging onto any Auction provider and Following the links for upcoming auctions
Buying Property at auction – Advice
  • Making an offer for a property at auction: as our auctions are held online, you will need to register your details before placing a bid.
  • Offers can be made PRIOR to the start of the auction, or POST auction if a Lot remains unsold.
  • Not all sellers will accept offers prior to the auction, however in the event that the property does not sell during the auction cycle we may contact any party that has registered pre-auction interest or placed prior offers.
  • Offers placed prior or post must contain the following information:
✓ Name of Buyer(s)
✓ Full registered address of buyer(s)
✓ Contact details
✓ Address of the property you are bidding for
✓ Amount of offer
✓ Solicitor details if possible. Our Panel solicitors can be on hand to discuss costs.
  • Telephone Bidding: Any buyer is welcome and able to register in advance of an auction event to bid for a lot via the telephone.
✓ You will need to download a registration form or email the team on info@martinbondauctions.co.uk
